Geluk is het mooiste in het leven

je wilt er alles wel voor geven
Het zit dikwijls in de kleine dingen
geluk,dat maakt je aan het zingen.
Een lieve wens,voor jou bedoelt
maakt dat je je gelukkig voelt.
Geluk is ,als je jarig bent
en met bloemen word verwend.
Geluk is iets voor anderen doen
en je beloond word met een zoen.
En later als je eenzaam bent
er iemand is die aan je denkt.
Geluk is,als een zonnestraal
en beschijnt ons allemaal.
Voor velen duurt het soms te kort
dan is het net of alles donker wordt.
Maar al is het dan ook heen gegaan
de warmte blijft altijd bestaan

My daily wish is that we may
See good in those who pass our way;

Find in each a worthy trait
That we shall gladly cultivate;

See in each one passing by
The better things that beautify

A softly spoken word of cheer,
A kindly face, a smile sincere.

I pray each day that we may view
The things that warm one's heart anew;

The kindly deed that can't be bought
That only from good are wrought,

A burden lightened here and there,
A brother lifted from despair,

The aged ones freed from distress;
The lame, the sick, brought happiness.

Grant that before each sun has set
We'll witness deeds we can't forget;

A soothing hand to one in pain,
A sacrifice for love - not gain;

A word to ease the troubled mind
Of one whom fate has dealt unkind.

So, friend, my wish is that we may

En niet op bezit gebaseerd,

Daarvan wil liefde het voorbeeld zijn,

dat blijkt voor velen een medicijn.

Want dan ervaart men pas de sfeer

aan ons geschonken keer op keer door de natuur.



Dan zie je de betrekkelijkheid

van geld en goed in werkelijkheid.

wordt geen bezit meer nagejaagd

waar liefde van je wordt gevraagd.



Want liefde geeft aan het leven zin,

en richt zich enkel op bemin.

Daarmee bezit je dan een schat

zoals je echt niet eerder had.

in all you do and say
It'll be better place
for everyone today

Telephone a loved one
invite them out to lunch
Send some wild flowers
with a bow tied round a bunch

Bake some oatmeal cookies
deliver them to a friend
These are acts of kindness
to someone we can lend

Do it in joy and gladness
everything you do
For there may be a time
someone will do the same for you
